History and location
"Appreciation means appreciation of the existing."
Seefeld Castle combines centuries of tradition with contemporary modernity like hardly any other institution in Europe.
The castle was first mentioned as Feste Schloßberg as early as 1302. In the middle of the 15th century it came into the possession of the current count family of Toerring-Jettenbach.
The castle got its baroque shape in the 18th century, the southwest wing of the high castle with our event rooms were added in 1897. Despite its excellent state of renovation, the castle has retained its medieval appearance to this day.
Today Schloss Seefeld is the historical and cultural center of the Bavarian 5-lake region and an important living part of the local recreation area of the Bavarian capital Munich. In addition to our EvenTRooms, the castle courtyard offers space for artisans, an art house cinema, fashion shops and the "Bräustüberl" and furniture store "Kokon", which are known far beyond the region's borders.
Let your mind get inspired by the beauty of the castle courtyards and let it wander into the distance on the idyllic paths in the castle forest.
